Mining engineers are responsible for locating natural reserves of minerals, petroleum, and other useful natural substances, laying out plans, device shafts, inclines or quarries, safe extraction of these resources.
Bachelor Degree Courses [Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology (4 Years)]:
The eligibility criteria is a 10+2 exam or equivalent qualified from a recognised board. Most colleges/ universities take admission on the basis of the marks scored in the IIT-JEE exam. Several state educational institutes conduct their entrance exam for admission separately.
Master Degree Courses [Master of Engineering/ Master of Technology (2 Years)]:
This degree is a specialization in a specific branch of engineering. The eligibility criteria is a Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology/ Science or Applied Sciences Course Degre. Admission is based on rank obtained in the entrance test conducted. Some Institutes also conduct personal interviews and entrance exams for admission.
